What is the reason that in some places, Lord and God is capitalized in the Old Testament?

I believe it has to do with whether the original language had the Name of God or a title.

Capital LORD is YHWH in hebrew, the sacred name given to Moses, normally pronounced as Yahweh. YHWH is in the Bible about 6800 times. Some of the others were titles like Adonai, El Shaddai, and Elohim.
